Transformational Thought for November 30 2010
How did your first day or night of forgiveness go? Lip service is simple, true forgiveness can be challenging. I have decided to begin my forgiveness journey by forgiving myself. Then I can move on to forgiving what at this time seems like others. What I mean by that is that when I get done working on myself, I believe I may find it unnecessary to forgive others. It occurred to me that once you take full and complete responsibility for your own life, it may become clear that you played a role in the pain and suffering that you may be claiming was a transgression by others. This is how I see my life and I believe that once I have journeyed this process, I anticipate less of a need to forgive others. Although at that time if something does come up for me I will be more likely to truly forgive and both of us will benefit from that forgiveness. But remember that the forgiveness of someone else is not for them but for you. This is about you and I, not about them or the situation. The spiritual power lies in the letting go of that old story and moving beyond the pain we continue to carry around. So I urge you to take this final step of the 15 Minute Miracle journey with me. Let me know your thoughts and how this process is going, I look forward to hearing from you.
“Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting.” William Arthur Ward

Knowing you did your best at the time is all you can ask of yourself. For the times you know you could have done better you have to learn to let go.
