Success in Selling May Just Be As Easy As Effective Communication
I started reading a very refreshing and straight forward book, by Frank Bettger. It is definitely old school, but never the less a classic. “How I Raise Myself From Failure To Success In Selling.” It has always been my contention that selling is not really what the majority of people think it is, even a lot of salesman don’t know what sales is and Frank confirms this for us.
According to Bettger, “The more important secret of salesmanship is to find out what the other fellow wants then help him find the best way to get it.” Dale Carnegie comments in Bettger’s book about moving men to act, that is… “There is only one way under heaven to get anybody to do anything. Did you ever think of that? Yes, just one way. And that is by making the other person want to do it. Remember, there is no other way.” And finally Bettger writes: “When you show a man what he wants, he will move heaven and earth to get it.”
This is what make me believe in the hopes and dreams of my fellow men and women. I truly believe that all things are possible. This is why it is so critical to be able to make connections with those you come in contact with, you may never know if that one person is the one contact or connection you will need to move your life, your business, your whole world to the next level. COMMUNICATE !!
